In den letzten Jahren war ich in den Genus gekommen mit so ziemlich allen Marken der Wolfsburger fahren zu d\u00fcrfen: Audi, Seat, \u0160koda und VW. Alles irgendwie gleich in Bedienung und Ergonomie, und nahezu idiotensicher. Opel war ich in seiner Reinform bis dato nie gefahren.\u00a0Bis eben zu jenem Freitag um M\u00e4rz. \u00bbSie bekommen einen fabrikneuen Opel.\u00ab, so\u00a0 die Aussage des netten Menschen beim Vermieter. Ich\u00a0hatte aber durch diverse Saabs GM-Erfahrung. Diese sollte sich alsbald auszahlen.<br><br>Da stand es nun, das schwarze SUV, frisch vom Lkw gefallen. Innen der Duft nach Neuwagen, teilweise noch Schutzfolien auf den schwarzen Klavierlack-Fl\u00e4chen und an den Halterungen der Sonnenblenden; in der Mitte der Frontscheibe die \u00dcberreste von Klebestreifen \u2013 hier war wohl ein Zettel mit dem Ziel des Wagens gewesen.<br>Das erste R\u00e4tsel stellte sich mir, als ich das Fahrzeug anschalten wollte. Z\u00fcndschloss? Fehlanzeige. Stattdessen ein Startknopf. Mal draufdr\u00fccken. Er ist wuchtig. Ein typischer Vertreter der SUV-Fraktion. Die L\u00e4nge schwer zu sch\u00e4tzen. Auf dem Papier stehen knappe 4,50 Meter, gute 1,85 Meter f\u00fcr die Breite (2,10 \u00fcber Au\u00dfenspiegel) und etwa 1,60 Meter f\u00fcr die H\u00f6he. Ein Klotz! Weiche Rundungen und scharfe Kanten bestimmen das Bild. Das Design macht schon etwas her. \u00bbSiehe da, hier bin ich!\u00ab<br>Aber w\u00e4re der Blitz nicht, w\u00fcrde ich ihn kaum als Opel erkennen, zu Standard-SUV-isch ist das alles. Austauschbar.<br>Mich st\u00f6rt die stark ansteigende Seitenlinie; die hinteren Fenster sind nicht mehr als gr\u00f6\u00dfere Schie\u00dfscharten. Durch die get\u00f6nten Scheiben verschwinden sie nahezu. Die D-S\u00e4ule ist sehr breit und einer guten Rundumsicht sehr abtr\u00e4glich.<br>Gelungen finde ich die Akzentleiste aus Aluminium in der has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Innerlichkeiten:<\/strong><br>Das wuchtige setzt sich innen fort. Der Opel ist gro\u00df. Und er ist schwarz, aber nicht durchgehend. Seitenholme und Dach sind in einem hellen Grau gehalten. Das Dach ist auf seine Weise speziell \u2013 es ist ein Glasdach, das sich durch eine Kunststoffmatte abdunkeln l\u00e4sst, aber nicht zu \u00f6ffnen ist. Ein sch\u00f6ner Blick nach oben, aber keine Frischluft. Das Cockpit ist mit Kunstleder bezogen und wirkt sehr edel, die Aluleiste verst\u00e4rkt den Eindruck noch.<br><br>Im Punkto Ablagen und Staum\u00f6glichkeiten wurde aber eher nach dem Motto \u00bbForm vor Funktion\u00ab gearbeitet. In der Mittelkonsole gibt es ein mittelgro\u00dfes Fach, mehr nicht. Einen Becherhalter suchte ich vergebens. Auch die T\u00fcrinnenseiten sind eher Designst\u00fccke denn praktikabel. Schade.<br>Die Mittelarmlehne l\u00e4sst sich entweder nach vorn ziehen oder \u00f6ffnen \u2013 beides gleichzeitig geht nicht. Das Fach darunter ist eher winzig und zum kontaktlosen Laden von Telefonen gedacht. Nunja\u2026<br><br>Die Sitze sind spitze! Sehr gut ausgeformt und vielf\u00e4ltig verstellbar, samt ausziehbarer Oberschenkelauflage, das hatte ich bisher nur bei Audi. Perfekt f\u00fcr meine langen Beine. Auch bei l\u00e4ngeren Strecken sind sie bequem.<br>Das Aber: Ich bevorzuge es, trotz meiner Gr\u00f6\u00dfe, den Sitz immer in der h\u00f6chsten Position zu haben. Das hat zwei Vorteile: Einerseits die bessere \u00dcbersicht, zum anderen mehr Schutz vor der blendenden Sonne, vor allem bei den flachen Frontscheiben. Im Opel wurde das schon ziemlich eng f\u00fcr meine Frisur. Die kratzte an der Dachverkleidung.<br><br>Auf der R\u00fccksitzbank ist es eher eng f\u00fcr so gro\u00dfe Pers\u00f6nchen wie mich, mit 1,82 Metern und ewig langen Beinen. Nur Kompaktklasse-Niveau. F\u00fcr kleinere Menschen erscheint es mir unangenehm, ob der hohen Fensterkante und den dunklen Farben.<br><br>Der Kofferraum ist riesig und gut zug\u00e4nglich, samt verstellbarem Ladeboden. Noch vor wenigen Jahren hatten diese Fahrzeuge riesige Schalter- und Knopfw\u00fcsten im Cockpit, Suchspiele vorprogrammiert.<br>Das hat sich ge\u00e4ndert. Es gibt nur noch wenige Kn\u00f6pfe, die logisch positioniert sind. Stattdessen dominiert ein riesiger Bildschirm den Innenraum. Hier\u00fcber l\u00e4sst sich nahezu alles einstellen. Darunter sitzt die Bedienung f\u00fcr die Klimaautomatik.<br>Das Lenkrad ist mit Tasten versehen zum Einstellen von Audio, Telefon und Tempomat (der nur Standardware ist und kein Abstandstempomat). Es ist alles leicht zu finden und gibt im Alltag kaum R\u00e4tsel auf.<br><br>Und doch muss ich hier etwas mehr kritisieren. Am schlimmsten finde ich die Position und Gr\u00f6\u00dfe des Warnblinkschalters. Links unter dem Bildschirm, farblich nicht abgesetzt \u2013 Form vor Funktion. Im Notfall nicht sofort zu finden. Das geht \u00fcberhaupt nicht!<br>Bei den Einstellm\u00f6glichkeiten und der intuitiven Bedienung kommt der Opel nicht an die Fahrzeuge aus Wolfsburg heran. Es l\u00e4sst sich nicht wirklich etwas einstellen und bis ich herausgefunden hatte, wie ich mein Telefon per Bluetooth koppeln kann, verging Zeit. Allgemeine Einstellungen f\u00fcr die Klimaautomatik such man in den Men\u00fcs vergeblich. Nicht mal die Einschaltzeit f\u00fcr das automatische Abblendlicht l\u00e4sst sich ausw\u00e4hlen. Bei VW &amp; Co. kann ich bestimmen, ob dieses sehr fr\u00fch, normal, oder sehr sp\u00e4t anspringt und f\u00fcr gen\u00fcgend Helligkeit sorgt. Tagfahrlicht gut und sch\u00f6n, aber ich bin da anders drauf.<br>Das f\u00fchrte auch dazu, dass ich den Lichtschalter prinzipiell auf \u00bbAbblendlicht\u00ab eingestellt lie\u00df \u2013 dankenswerterweise ging dieses beim Ausschalten des Opels mit aus und machte sich nicht \u00fcber einen Piepton bemerkbar wie noch vor Jahren (und bei meinem\u00a0\u0160koda) \u2013 \u00bbIch muss ausgeschaltet werden!\u00ab<br>Das Infodisplay zwischen den Rundinstrumenten zeigt Standardkost, hat aber alle wichtigen Informationen. Bei mir war es die meiste Zeit auf den digitalen Tachometer eingestellt. Und auch hier hat Opel nicht zuende gedacht (oder wollte besonders h\u00f6flich und zuvorkommend sein): Bei anstehenden Navi-Anweisungen dr\u00e4ngen sich diese unvermittelt in den Vordergrund und lassen sich nicht abstellen. Ich mag das nicht, wenn mir mein Fahrzeug vorschreibt, was ich zu tun habe.<br>Das l\u00e4sst sich auf die gesamte Bedienung anwenden. Der kleine Motor stammt vom PSA-Konzern (Peugeot-Citro\u00ebn), in dessen Werk in Sochaux der Grandland X zusammen mit dem Peugeot 3008 gebaut wird. Der Benziner hat 1199 cm\u00b3 Hubraum und nur 3 Zylinder. Aus diesen holt er durch die Turboaufladung 130 PS Leistung bei 5550\/min und 230 Nm Drehmoment bei 1750\/min. Das wirkt erst einmal viel. Bei etwa 1,5 Tonnen Leergewicht ist es aber schon grenzwertig.<br>Das hakelige 6-Gang-Schaltgetriebe m\u00f6chte und muss bedient werden. Ich f\u00fchlte mich recht schnell wieder zur\u00fcck in meinem alten Saab 900 und im 9-3 mit genau diesen hakeligen und unpr\u00e4zisen Getrieben. Da hat sich garnichts getan. Kein Vergleich zu den knackigen Getrieben von VW, wo man den Schalthebel nur anzutippen braucht, damit er in seine Position flutscht.<br>Der kleine Motor will damit bearbeitet werden. In der Stadt mag es noch gehen, im vierten Gang l\u00e4sst sich gut mitschwimmen. Aber ich wohne nunmal im Gebirge und bin hier gern und oft unterwegs. Den 3 Zylinderchen geht dabei bei meinem niedertourigen Fahrstil recht oft die Puste aus \u2013 Gang runter und beschleunigen. Einem geringen Benzinverbrauch ist das sehr abtr\u00e4glich. Soetwas wie ein sportliches Fahrgef\u00fchl sucht man vergebens, oder bezahlt es mit einem hohen Verbrauch und Drehzahlen jenseits der 3000-er-Marke.<br><br>Mit der Motor-Getriebe-Kombination bin ich in den 3 Tagen nie warm geworden. Die meisten G\u00e4nge erschienen mir zu lang \u00fcbersetzt, der 6. wiederum zu kurz. Bereits ab 70 km\/h konnte ich den Opel in diesem bewegen, wenn auch nur auf ebener Fl\u00e4che. F\u00fcr ein sparsames Fahren auf der Autobahn\u00a0 eher unpraktisch.<br><br>Die elektronische Parkbremse mit Haltefunktion an Steigungen gewann ich lieb. Leider hatte sie manchmal ihre Macken und bedurfte an Ampeln einem beherzten Tritt auf die Bremse um anzuspringen.<br><br>Das Fahrgef\u00fchl war sehr angenehm, nicht zu weich, nicht zu straff. In schnell durchfahrenen Kurven neigte sich der Aufbau etwas mit \u2013 ein komisches Gef\u00fchl, aber nie grenzwertig.<br>Die \u00dcbersichtlichkeit k\u00f6nnte besser sein. Die Heckscheibe ist auch kaum mehr als eine Schie\u00dfscharte, das viele Metall ringsum st\u00f6rt. Nur dank der Parksensoren an allen Seiten und des Totwinkel-Warners in den Au\u00dfenspiegeln l\u00e4sst sich der Opel ohne Dellen man\u00f6vrieren.<br><br>Von den angegebenen 5,5 Litern Verbrauch war ich die ganze Zeit\u00a0 meilenweit entfernt. Zum Schluss kam ich auf etwa 7,8 Liter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fazit:<\/strong><br>Der Opel Grandland X mit dem 1,2-Liter-Benzinmotor ist ein ziemliches Dickschiff; eines dieser vielen, austauschbaren SUV\u2019s; ein Auto f\u00fcr die Stadt, nicht f\u00fcr das Gebirge.<br>Doch was soll ich mit so einem riesigen un\u00fcbersichtlichen Fahrzeug in der Stadt?<br>Er geh\u00f6rt eigentlich ins Gebirge und Gel\u00e4nde aber daf\u00fcr ist er untermotorisiert und bietet keinen Allrad.<br>Er bietet Platz ohne Ende \u2013 mit Ausnahme der R\u00fccksitzbank, wirkt auf mich aber in gro\u00dfen Teilen wie ein Designerst\u00fcck, das die Funktion oftmals in den Hintergrund dr\u00e4ngt und bei dem viele Dinge nicht zuende gedacht sind. Er m\u00f6chte \u00fcber seinen Fahrer bestimmen, nicht umgekehrt.<br>Und er hat mich zuoft an alte Saab-Zeiten erinnert, vor allem bei dem Getriebe.<br>Dass der Benzinverbrauch viel zu hoch ist \u2013 geschenkt.<br><br>Gerade nach diesem Wochenende stelle ich mir immer mehr die Frage, wer solche Fahrzeuge braucht? Gab es nicht mal eine Zeit in der Kompaktvans ganz gro\u00df waren? Noch praktischer (auch f\u00fcr die \u00e4ltere Klientel) und viel eleganter. Keine Dickschiffe mit winzigem Mot\u00f6rchen.<br><br>Ich habe das Wochenende genossen, bin aber mit dem Grandland X (was f\u00fcr ein komischer Name) nie richtig warm geworden.
